MY ADVICE
I am not writing this to get sympathy. I am writing this so that someone else who is new to adsense, blogging and hubpages might not make the same mistakes I did. My account has been disabled with adsense. I did contact them and lost my appeal. It is too late for me, but not for you. I am also not writing this out of any anger or maliciousness, it is only meant to inform. Adsense ads do still appear on my hubpages, but I do not generate any income from them at all. I haven't yet figured out why they are still on my hubpages, they do not appear on any of my blogs.
About a month ago my husband found an ad on-line for me about working from home. I am home right now with an injured knee and am willing to try anything. I love to be on the computer so I thought it was worth a try. I started by setting up 3 blogs, one for my dog, one for recipes and cooking, and one for my husband who is on kidney dialysis. After that I discovered Hubpages and began writing hubs. Next I applied to adsense and was approved and my journey begins. I was full of hope and excitement. The rest of the story I won't drag out, except to say that 3 weeks later I received an e-mail from adsense telling me my account was disabled. Adsense doesn't give you a lot of reason why, even in the appeal so:
The mistakes that were made in my opinion:
1. Don't check your blogs and adsense account too often. I was excited at first and went to my pages several times a day. I would get ideas and go to change the look of my blog. I was and still am new to it all and was trying to improve and learn. I was also excited to check my adsense earnings. I know I probably did this way too much and this may have hurt me in the long run. This probably wasn't the reason but it just my thoughts on things that could have hurt me in the long run.
2. This is a biggie and everyone should know this but NEVER CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This I honestly never did and I know this but if I hadn't really read the rules I may not have known this and it can't hurt to repeat it. Don't click on your own ads ever!
3. Don't encourage anyone to click on your ads. This may have been my downfall. Yes I admit it, my husband and daughter were going onto my blogs at their work and sometimes clicking on my ads. They didn't do it excessively but it is wrong, DON'T DO IT. You cannot ask anyone to click on your ads and trust me on this one, adsense will find out somehow. They want people to come to your pages and click because they are interested, not because they are trying to help you make money. I do understand this. I was wrong.
4. Here is another area I think I made some mistakes. As a newbie on blogs I would go to other blogs, join and ask them to visit my room. This in itself is ok I think. Many of the blogs I visited were people like me trying to work from home and several of them had it printed in the blogs to please click on my ads while you are here. I never put in print to click on ads on my blog and neither should you. In some cases they would write entries encouraging you to click on their ads. I kept up with these blogs and then began thinking well if they are doing it, maybe its ok. I would then go to the rooms I was visiting and never using the word "click" would encourage people to come and "kiss" my blogs on their way out. I thought I was being clever, but again, THIS IS WRONG. Do not ask for clicks in any way, shape or form, EVER. Adsense is always watching. I am not blaming any of the other people, I made my own mistakes. But honestly if you come upon a blog where someone is asking for clicks I would suggest you just stay away from those blogs, so you are not tempted. One of the comments adsense made to me in the e-mail was that they read my feedback and apparently they didn't like something there, although I can't imagine what because I have always had positive feedback. I did have other bloggers asking me to click, click on their ads in my feedback, I think this might have hurt me, although you can't control what others write in feedback. Again I wish adsense would have been more specific in their reasoning .
NO REGRETS
This is a constant learning process for me. I am now utilizing Amazon and Kontera and trying other methods. I am not giving up, I love writing. I especially enjoy the new friendships I have made on my blogs and hubs. It has been overall a great experience and I don't regret it. I just wish that maybe adsense could have a little more of a warning system before they cut you off completely, and a better explanation so that you don't make the mistakes again. All I would have needed was a warning and believe me I would have complied and learned from it. Oh well still no regrets. I was up to just over $60.00 in 3 weeks and in that time my husband was off work for a week and a half of it and my daughter was off as well. So I would like to think that most of the income was genuine but of course I will never know. However once they disable your account, you loose all the earnings you have accumulated and get nothing. Please learn from me and I wish you well in all your work at home attempts.

Hi Anne I see you did your appeal all so sorry to hear. How is Kontera working for you. The same thing happened for me too I was almost to 80.00. So beware.
Dang... both of you... thats not fun sheesh. Adsense guys are smartart and strict-and rightly so. Adsense was a great tool but wasnt the only one, Ive made a page with the top earning alternatives for bloggers and ways to monetize your web pages.. you should take a look. The main thing making money is not adsense its your traffic, once you have traffic then you can monetize it well even without adsense. Good luck both of you hope things get better soon
Hi Anne I see Alex is still around lol
Anne, I talked to my sister the other day and found out she got kicked off adsense too. You would think adsense would give people some sort of guidelines or warnings. Really sorry you had to go through that sort of a hassle.
thanks for the adivse.. i jus started my site and its been 2 weeks since ive enabled adsense. alls well till now. but how the hell do they find out that someone known has clicked the adds???? i din get any results while searchin it on google, and plus ive got a dynamic ipaddress hence its not possi to track through ip ..!!!!
I have always wondered about that, I know that I have adsense and check it once to twice a day if for nothing else to see how a website that I have is doing on viewership because I do not have analytics on it. I think the most I have made on any day though is a dollar.
Hello chicamom
First I want to thank you for becoming a fan of mine.
Your experience with adsense puts you in good company. There tons of professional marketers that have been banned by google for no apparent reason including yours truly. I didn't even get an email. I must have done something really bad.
There are tons of other ways to monitize your work and earn long term residual incomes. You will find them as you move forward, take advantage of as many as interests you.
Seventeen hubs in three weeks, that is exceptional. Exposure by means of well written hubs and other posts is what is going to build traffic for you.
Without traffic you don't have a business. Without a business with lots of traffic you have no income. Simple as that.
Each article you write is like money in the bank, it earns interest just sitting there.
If I can ever be of any help, please contact me.
Keep up the great work.
Grant Logan.
thanks for the insight, my wife and I are new to this as well. I am laid off and she is a stay at home mom, so we are very new to this.
Wow Nice post. Thanks for the advise .
I am sorry for what happened to you. I don't know much about it, but it sounds as if you got a raw deal.
Thanks for the advice! I am new in blogger and could use a lot of it!
hey btw your first point , i don think its one of the reasons, check out https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer. . they say you can browse your site/blog how many ever times without invalid impressions.
i really like your article, i know people that have been banned by google too so i guess is pretty often. But thank you for writing this - i believe google really controles everything. take care and thank you for becoming my fan.

Thanks for all the great advice! I am a total newbee! Yikes!
Hi Chicamom! I'm glad I read your Coffee Shop post - this is a great site. I hope this works out for you, the whole Adsense thing was a really bad deal. I've even signed up for an account here myself, so let's hope this is a good thing :)
~Sandi
good advice...thanks
very good advice Thanks
Yes, that's the basis. I usually don't advise people to sign up for adsense at all till they've got traffic going (say 100 visitors a day over all your online projects where you'll use your adsense code). Content and traffic first - making money online second.
huh...soory to hear you story...i'm only see what happening becoz i'm new here.good luck 4 u
sorry to hear that, though your right, its your own fault...
i didnt read the agreement aswell, cause well... i have a life and i live only once so im not going to read agreements and manueals when i buy/accept something...
so i know how it feels ^^
however, isnt it possible to make a new acocunt?? cause they are actually not allowed to bad your IP address so you should be able to make a new one ^^
and eehm... if you could learn me how to produce some cash at all (without asking for clicks or kisses :P) cause somehow im not prodcusing annything...
well, i have to say, its really nice of you to warn people about this, and there fore ill clikc un the green UP button
(i assume thats good ^^)
i hope hearing from you soon and good luck with HubPages:D
I am sorry AdSense did not work out well for you. Question: Can you not re-apply at some point?
I haven't even activated my Adsense account yet, because it seems like such a faff! I thought I had one already opened somewhere else, but cannot remember where or what my password was. So I've started the whole process again with a new email address (I'll probably have my account deactivated for that as soon as it's active!) Seems to me like it's in Adsense's interest to make it easy for them to stop paying you by making their rules rather obscure and difficult to understand (and even completely hidden - why the heck shouldn't you be able to check out your own page as often as you like, it's your page, not theirs! We need to check our pages a lot if we're hubbing a lot), but still leave the ads on your page - hmm, call me paranoid, but that seems suspicious!
I'm waffling. I think I'm just talking myself out of even bothering with Adsense. I didn't come onto Hubpages to make money anyway, I came on for the writing practice and advice :)
Hi Chicamom
I am new to blogging and to hubpages and I just read your blog. Thanks so much for posting. Sorry though to see what you have gone through. Glad to see it has not discouraged you too much and that you are still here.
adsense is so trickish! They wont complain or disable ur account when it is 10 dollar. They will wait until when you are about to get to the pay threshold! Rubbish ppl!! Infact, iv come to beleive that this is the startegy put in place to turn u into their slave. They will use u but once it gets to pay time.. vam!! they will dump u.
Hi Chicamom,
Thanks for putting this hub up! I'm new to writing with an eye to adsense and your hub is a real eye-opener.
I think the lesson I've learned here is that I should write my hubs and blogs and pretty much leave them alone - same with my adsense account. Maybe I'll check in on adsense once or twice a month.
Thanks again for the great advice and sorry about your account,
Susan :-)
